Privacy Policy
virtres.com — virtual employment connections. Last updated October 20, 2026.
Who we are
virtres is a video-first talent directory: job seekers post a profile with a short video introduction, and employers browse those profiles to find people. Questions about privacy can be sent to kris@virtres.com.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, and whether you registered as a job seeker or an employer. Passwords are stored in encrypted form by our authentication provider — we never see or store your plain-text password.
- Candidate profiles: your video introduction, resume file, headline and summary, role and location, and the contact email and phone number you provide.
- Referral information: how you heard about us, and advertising source details (such as which ad or link brought you here) captured when you first visit.
- Usage data: standard technical information such as pages visited and device/browser details, including through the Meta (Facebook) advertising pixel described below.
What is public, and what is not
virtres is a showcase directory, so a candidate's first name and last initial (never your full name), role, location, summary and video introduction are public — that visibility is the point of the service.
A candidate's contact email, phone number and resume file are not public. They are shown only to employers who have registered an account and verified their email address.
How we use your information
- To operate the directory and display your profile as described above.
- To let verified employers contact candidates.
- To respond to you and keep the service secure.
- To measure whether our advertising is working (for example, whether an ad led to a registration).
We do not sell your personal information.
AI assistants
We offer free AI assistants that polish a candidate's written summary and review their video introduction. If you choose to use them, the text you submit — and, for video review, the audio from your video — is processed by our AI provider (OpenAI) solely to generate your suggestions and feedback. Using the assistants is always optional.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to run the site: Supabase (accounts, database and file storage), Vercel (website hosting), Meta (advertising measurement pixel), and OpenAI (AI assistants). Each processes information only as needed to provide its service to us.
Cookies and local storage
We use essential storage to keep you signed in and to remember which ad or link first brought you to virtres. The Meta pixel may set cookies to measure advertising performance. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though you may need to sign in again.
Your choices and rights
You can see your account details on your account page, and you can delete your account there at any time. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, videos, resume and contact details from our active systems; residual copies in routine backups clear within 30 days. Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) you also have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you and to have inaccuracies corrected — contact us at kris@virtres.com.
Who virtres is for
virtres is intended for adults seeking or offering employment. It is not directed at children.
